Doctors’ Day is May 1. It’s a day dedicated to celebrating Nova Scotia’s doctors and the important work they do to improve the lives of all Nova Scotians.
Nova Scotia’s physicians are some of the best in Canada and work tirelessly to improve the health of patients across of the province. In addition to delivering care, Nova Scotia’s doctors are leading health-care transformation to improve care in this province and to ensure the system is evolving to meet the current and future needs of all users, doctors and patients alike.
From primary care to specialist care, your doctors are committed to helping you live a long and healthy life.
Each day, Nova Scotia’s physicians perform more than 28,000 services to patients. On May 1, we say “Thanks, doc!”
Last year we launched our pop-up coffee shops throughout the province. Doctors Nova Scotia popped up at six different sites throughout the province to give away coffee, fruit, and “love my doc” pins and stickers. The pop-up shops also offered visitors an opportunity to leave a thank-you message for their doctor.
We gave away more than 1,200 cups of coffee and tea, 1,000 Doctors’ Day cards, 2,000 pins and stickers, and 600 pieces of fruit.
Each day in Nova Scotia, our doctors perform more than 28,000 services to patients. On Doctors’ Day we delivered hundreds of Thank-You cards to physicians in appreciation of their unwavering dedication to patient care.
This year, you can expect much of the same, but even MORE of it. We’re popping up in more than 10 different communities this year. On Friday, May 1, look for pop-up coffee shops in Halifax, Dartmouth, Cape Breton, Kentville, Antigonish, Yarmouth, Truro, Amherst, Bridgewater and New Glasgow.
Doctors Nova Scotia representatives will be on site starting at 7 o’clock in the morning until 10 a.m. to give out coffee, tea, fresh fruit, stickers and pins, and thank-you cards.
